Congratulations to the 2006 Goldman Environmental Prize Winners!
The 2006 Goldman Environmental Prize winners were warmly and enthusiastically received at the 17th annual Prize ceremony held in San Francisco’s historic War Memorial Opera House. More than 3,000 people attended the ceremony and a subsequent reception at nearby City Hall.
Joining the winners on stage were Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai, a 1991 Goldman Environmental Prize winner, and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who talked about the state’s environmental efforts.
