Juan Mayr (1993) Named Colombian Ambassador To Germany

Recognizing his achievements in the field of ecology and land preservation, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos named 1993 Goldman Prize winner and former environment minister Juan Mayr the new ambassador to Germany.

Mayr joins the ranks of several Goldman Prize winners who have been appointed to or won elected office such as Marina Silva (1996), who was appointed Brazilian Minister for the Environment in 2003 and Noah Idechong (1995), who was elected to the Palau National Congress in 2001.
