She organized the Polish Beekepers Association to join forces with ICPPC and the Coalition for a GMO Free Poland in a march through the streets of Warsaw.

More than 1,500 beekeepers dressed in traditional working clothes joined GMO activists wearing yellow jackets and marched all the way up to the steps outside of Ministry of Agriculture, where they placed thousands of dead bees in their appeal to ban Monsanto’s genetically modified corn.

With beekeepers coming on board for the first time, the event marks a turning point for Lopata’s ongoing campaign to ban GMO crops in Poland, with growing public pressure on the Polish government to take action.
